Alluring, secluded, and untouched.

Besides being the world’s biggest exporter of cloves, Pemba Island is also known for its exclusive beaches with turquoise lagoons and white and pink sands. Yachting on Pemba Island feels highly exclusive and authentic, as most of the island is almost uninhabited.

Pemba Island is also sometimes called the “Green Island” due to its hilly and lush forest. Its soils are also perfect for the cloves to thrive and produce nearly 70% of the world’s supply. Pemba Island also has some of the best diving sites around the area. Since the island is virtually empty, the steep underwater walls of the Pemba Channel create dramatic drop-offs, attracting large pelagic species like hammerhead sharks and barracudas. Sites like Emerald Wall and the Swiss Reef have some incredible coral formations with visibility that often exceeds 30 meters. Hiking and wildlife spotting is also available in Pemba. Hike through Ngezi Forest Reserve, a large indigenous forest home to the Pemba flying fox. For a more chill afternoon lounge, visit Vumawimbi Beach, located on the northern tip. This stretch of pure white sand is entirely untouched, where there are no hotels, no vendors, and just miles of serene shoreline. Pemba Island also has the only underwater hotel room in Africa, which is part of The Manta Resort. The floating suite is suspended in the sea and offers a 360-degree view of marine life, making it one of the most unique stays in the world.

<br>Satisfy your senses with the island’s stunning landscapes, the fragrant aroma of cloves filling the air, the rich flavours of local dishes, the soft powdery sands beneath the skin, the soothing rhythm of the waves, and the warmth of the tropical sun here at Pemba Island.
